Chahine is comfortable mixing and mastering in the analog and/or digital worlds, in stereo or immersive as a certified Dolby Atmos professional. At hidden track, his boutique mixing studio in Los Angeles, he brings that approach into a room designed for warmth, clarity, and translation.
Among others, he has worked with international artists with artists like Max Herre (Universal), Rea Garvey (Island Records), Megaloh (Universal), and Fairuz (1.9mm streams). He’s also collaborated with Ziad Rahbani (1.8mm streams), The Trouble Notes (3.5mm streams) and others across Europe and the Middle East. His work also spans award-winning film score mixes such as Nö (Dietrich Brüggerman) & Tiger Girl (Jakob Lass).
Using audio science as a tool to enhance artists' musical ideas makes him a trusted partner for artists who rely on his taste and understanding of their musical direction to deliver nuanced work.
He’s also supported designing and implementing the audio technical structure for studio spaces where he creates his best conditions for capturing and mixing music and has partnered on these kinds of rooms with TrueBusyness and Riverside Studios. At these and others, like Jazzanova Recording Studio, he’s records, mixes, and masters albums in Berlin. He maintains his connection with the Middle Eastern production domain by working remotely on projects with Notta Studio, where he has recorded and mixed many artists in Beirut.
Chahine listens to music as an engineer, but also as an artist, composer, arranger, studio musician and regular listener. Driven to improve the quality of results for all kinds of listeners using audio science and musical understanding, he has gradually been pushed from the engineering seat to the role of producer. In Cologne he produced the latest album of 5vor12, a rock band whose members were thrilled with his ability to understand, record and strengthen their group sound.
